The most tranquil sundown moment I have experienced.
We were extremely fortunate in that we were greeted by a jovial, sunny Brighton the afternoon we decided to go. While I had my preconceived expectations of Brighton, by way of YouTube videos, the place was so much more surreal in person. I’ve exhausted countless captions and articles about my fascination with light; as such, it should come as no surprise that upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was the blindingly bright sun that cast a warm shade of orange over the petite shops and walkways. We strolled on the pier and had fish and chips as the sun set quietly and ever so beautifully. There are only so many adjectives I can use to describe the tranquil sundown that I experienced in Brighton, and where words fail, photographs normally provide a holistic depiction of the experience; but while I tried to recreate the paradisal seascape I witnessed, there is no image-making device capable of digitally translating my physical and emotional sensory experience that day. But I guess that is the beauty of travelling: that there is no way of conveying the unique experience to others than to say, ‘you need to visit it’.
